Welcome To Derry Vinyl

The Welcome to Derry vinyl has become one of the most meaningful pieces in my horror collection. Not just because of the music, but because of the story behind how I got it. While attending a local horror convention, I had the chance to meet Arian S. Cartaya and Matilda Lawler.

During a conversation with Arian about coming back the next day with my vacuform Pennywise mask he and his handler mentioned the Welcome To Derry vinyl and his enthusiasm immediately made me want to track it down.

After hearing about it the vinyl I went looking excitedly through the convention for it. Receiving a call from my son that he had found it at Scare Flair and they had only two copies left. Promptly left the aisle I was on and headed over to pick that copy up with my best friend whom picked up the other copy.

One of the highlights of the convention was returning to their table and seeing how excited Arian was that we were back. His energy was infectious and it made the entire experience even more memorable. He and Matilda both signed the vinyl cover. Matilda was super sweet when taking selfies with me; just genuine.

The Vinyl

As for the vinyl itself, it’s fantastic. The soundtrack perfectly captures the eerie atmosphere and creeping tension that fans expect from the world of Derry. The music is haunting, immersive, and packed with the kind of unsettling ambiance that makes horror soundtracks so enjoyable to listen to on their own. Every track helps build the feeling that something is lurking just out of sight.

The pressing sounds excellent, with clear audio and impressive depth throughout the score. The artwork and packaging are also beautifully done, making it a standout display piece for any horror fan or vinyl collector.

The Welcome to Derry vinyl is an incredible release, but the memories attached to this copy make it truly special. Discovering it through Arian and his handler, tracking it down at the Scare Flair booth, and then bringing it back to get signed turned a great soundtrack into one of my favorite convention experiences.
